Frequently Asked Questions
Q What is the minimum dollar amount you will accept?
There is no specific dollar amount, but our minimum annual fee is $500. This would translate into 1% on a $50,000 account.
Q. Do I participate in investment decisions?
A choice of two investment programs is available:
I. Discretionary Account all investments are made by the advisors
II. Non-discretionary account all recommendations are approved by the client
Q. Does Petronio & Varshney Investment Management hold my cash or securities?
No, each client may elect to maintain possession of his or her securities, establish an
agency-custodian relationship with a commercial bank, or place their securities and/or
cash with a brokerage firm to be held in safekeeping. When the client places cash/securities
with a bank or brokerage firm, they will give us limited power of authority in order to
instruct the bank or brokerage firm to buy and sell securities on their behalf and to
deduct our fee from their account.
Q. May I add or withdraw from my account at any time?
Yes, simply by notifying us.
Q. Do you receive any income from my account other than your fee?
No, we do not receive any part of the brokerage commissions, participate in
underwritings, sell insurance, tax shelter programs, mutual funds, or any products
which might have or cause a potential conflict of interests.
Q. Why do I need investment management?
To maximize your wealth. A simple statement but concise. An investment manager
should increase dramatically your odds for success in the marketplace because of his
extensive training and the time he is willing to devote to this enterprise. Furthermore,
decision-making is delegated to professionals allowing you the time and opportunity to
maximize your energies in your chosen endeavors.
Q. How are you superior to brokerage houses or other fund managers?
Our fee does not exceed 1% of the total investment value, unlike others who charge
3%+ either directly or in the form of wrap fee. We are not like the other sales people
who are always trying to sell you "a particular product", and make money from
you, and not for you. Finally, you may sleep better knowing that your money is being
managed by highly qualified and competent professionals who know and teach finance.
